CPD ‘SNAPSHOTS’ AIMS To utilise the ‘in-house’ expertise of our own staff to lead

CPD ‘SNAPSHOTS’ AIMS To utilise the ‘in-house’ expertise of our own staff to lead and deliver continued professional development sessions on areas of significance and areas of need, improving standards of teaching and learning in the classroom as a result. SELF-EVALUATION It is hoped that each member of our teaching staff is able to identify their own area(s) for development (EBI’s) in their day to day teaching and select ‘snapshot’ sessions that are appropriate to them. Some of these areas for development may be informed by your previous lesson observations i. e. is there a part of your teaching that is consistently highlighted as being an area for improvement? WHAT WE ASK… We encourage you to attend as many of the ‘snapshot’ sessions as you choose to, from now until the end of the academic year. We also ask that if you have an area of expertise or a significant strength, please let us know. We would like you to lead a session. CONCEPT One ‘snapshot’ session every three weeks (Thursday’s) Each ‘snapshot’ session lasts for FIFTEEN minutes only Sessions run from 8. 15 – 8. 30 am sharp The outcome and outline of each session are summarised on the T&L blog Refreshments / hot drinks provided FOLLOW UP… Following each ‘snapshot’ session, a learning walk will take place around the school. This could be anytime in the three weeks following the session. The focus of the learning walk will include looking at theme from the ‘snapshot’ session. Ultimately, along with lesson observations, work scrutiny and feedback from external agencies, we can use these sessions and the subsequent follow-up to improve the standards of T&L across the school.
