The CCF stands for the Combined Cadet Force. St Antony's are privileged to have a Royal Navy section. In the CCF you can achieve new life skills such as Leadership and Teamwork. CCF also provide lots of amazing trips that allow you access to Royal Naval bases. Some of the trips include sailing courses, windsurfing, yachting, seamanship and navigation, powerboating, firefighting and lots more. These courses are available to cadets throughout the year and they allow cadets to develop and learn new skills outside of a school classroom environment. The courses also give the cadets an opportunity to meet lots of new people and make some great friends from all around the UK. Every year we take part in the Remembrance Day March which takes lots of preparation and practice to get every cadet marching in synchrony. It also gives you a sense of pride to be involved within this organisation.

CCF weekly Sessions Our CCF sessions take place after the school day has finished from 3: 30 pm till 5: 00 pm every Wednesday. These sessions begin with Divisional Inspections of our three divisions (Diamond, Dragon and Daring). After inspection is complete, the class-based sessions commence varying from leadership tasks, where teams must complete a scenariobased task and are given the opportunity to show that they are capable of leading a team.

BRNC DARTMOUTH During the academic year, cadets are invited to the Britannia Royal Naval College at Dartmouth which is over 100 years old. On the trip cadets have the opportunity to drive a powerboat down the River Dart, completing the ship simulator and participating in the low ropes challenge. Cadets are also given a tour around the amazing site and accommodation onboard the Hindustan (formerly known as HMS Cromer, a sandown-class minehunter). BRNC is also the site for the BRNC Summer Camp that our senior cadets attended in 2019, covering courses such as yachting, motorboat training and junior/senior leadership. With our very own Leading Cadet Louka Hill being awarded the best cadet on the Junior Leadership course at that time!

HMS Prince of Wales Earlier this year, a group of our cadets were lucky enough to be invited onboard HMS Prince of Wales at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal on the River Mersey. This once in a lifetime experience was enjoyed by all cadets to be given a guided tour around the inside of the largest ship in the Royal Navy. Cadets had the opportunity to see the medical centre, mess area and view some of the helicopters on board. Walking across the immense flight deck was an amazing experience we will never forget! This opportunity was given to the cadets that have shown the most commitment, personal growth and have a high attendance at the CCF weekly sessions.

REMEMBERANCE DAY Every year, on the 11 th November, all cadets take part in the Remembrance Day March in Urmston. The cadets have to practice their drill skills leading up to Remembrance Day, so that everyone is confident at marching for this important event. This allows us to show our respect to everybody that has died in the war fighting their country. It takes a lot of hard work and determination to get the marching to a high level so that we can all march correctly and in time with one another.
