Senior Service America, Inc. (SSAI) Webinar: Additional Funds for SCSEP Costs Incurred before June 30, 2017 Thursday, June 15, 2017 2: 00 p. m. EDT
q Today’s Presenters: Chris Garland, National SCSEP Director and Steve Sandberg, Controller q Webinar Length 1 hour from 2: 00 – 3: 00 p. m. Eastern Standard Time n We may finish early if not all time is needed
Webinar Agenda q Welcome q Review PY 2016 context q SSAI procedures for subgrantees that are overspending in Admin, OPC and/or Fringe q How to apply for Additional Funds q Questions/Answers q Adjourn
PY 2016 Context n PY 16 was one for the record books with two 6 month budgets, or if you are new to our network, one 5 month budget n SSAI does not expect a “no cost” extension for PY 2016 which means all subgrant funds must be expended by June 30, 2017 n Important that each subgrantee spend 100% of its subgrant funds by June 30, 2017 § Participant Wages – Through PPP Webtool
Overspending Admin/OPC and/or Fringe q For those on track - good job! q For those on track to overspend as of June 30 th, what should you do? n Recognize this is not a negative – SCSEP typically costs more than the funds available for this program n Submit your costs on web-based SA 1 Report n SSAI will reimburse you what your budget allows
Additional Funds Application on SA 1 Web-based Reporting Tool q Let’s go to the Test Site and review how to activate the Application for the Additional Funds
“Monthly Additional Funds Request” Recap q The “Monthly Additional Funds Request” feature will only become available on the SA 1 tool when you have expended your entire budget in one of the following three categories: 1. Admin 2. Admin & OPC combined 3. Total SSAI Budget q Funding of any of the “Additional Funds Requests” will be determined at the end of the grant when we know whether funds are
“Closeout Additional Funds” Recap The “Closeout Additional Funds” feature will populate automatically in the SA 1 tool with any overbudget expense categories at grant closeout.
q The “Additional Funds” resource is not a substitute for your non-federal match expenses n All subgrantees are required to meet the non-federal match portion of their grant n If you have not yet met your non-federal match requirement, you should not be requesting an “Additional Funds Request” but rather be including those costs on your SA 2 report
Urgent funds request q If you need funds and cannot wait until after the grant closeout, please contact us immediately q For example – an exorbitant Workers Comp premium bill q SSAI cannot guarantee funding but please contact us immediately
Questions? Raise Your Hand or Send Us a Note
Next Steps After Webinar q Steve will follow-up with any subgrantee who is late with their SA 1 reporting n Per your Sponsor Agreement and SCSEP Policy and Procedure Manual, the SA 1 and SA 2 reports are due no later than 30 days after the close of the prior month n Example: today is June 15 th so we expect all subgrantees to have submitted SA 1 report of costs through April and be working on their May SA 1 reports) n SSAI needs most current data to ensure spending of SCSEP grant funds is on track for all funds to be expended by June 30, 2017
