Breakdown of Alternatives Pros Cons Mitigate by coating the board in an anti-slip spray to provide extra traction for divers -Cheap and effective ($14. 39/“Liquid Traction” can) -Very accessible, can be bought from any hardware store or online -Will not prevent all injuries, just those related to slipping -Has to be reapplied to the board when the traction wears out Mitigate by increasing signage near the board -Cheap and effective -Can be placed right next to the board in full view so the warning is not missed -People often ignore signs, younger members will most likely ignore signage Avoid by banning diving board from general member use -Completely prevents any injuries from occurring on the diving board -Many members enjoy the access to the diving board and may decide to look elsewhere for a pool membership.
