MASTERCLASSES Class teachers will be available for revision and subject advice and support for pupils at specific times throughout the exam diet. These times will be protected for staff and pupils to work together at the stated times.
ON EXAM DAYS Arriving for your exam: You should be ready and outside the exam room at least 10 minutes before your exam is due to begin. If you are late, you must report to me. I will then let you know if you can sit the exam after checking with the Chief Invigilator, Mrs Wallace. If you are unable to sit an exam due to illness or any other reason, you or your parent/carer must report this to the school office as soon as possible. This then allows me to consider your options, and whether ‘exceptional circumstances’ can be considered. I have only 10 days after the exam to contact SQA about this.
PROHIBITED ITEMS You must not have the following things in the exam room with you during the exam: Before you go to your seat in the exam room, check your bags and pockets carefully to make sure you do not have these things with you. You must not take any prohibited item to your seat. Plan ahead and leave them in a safe space – either at home or in the school office, or even with me.
ON EXAM DAYS Seat numbers: Check the SQA noticeboards to see where your exam is taking place and what seat number you have been allocated. Do this before you enter the exam hall. This information will be on the board the night before each exam.
ON EXAM DAYS
ON EXAM DAYS Invigilators: You must follow any instructions given to you by invigilators. Their job is to make sure your exams take place according to the rules and that the rules are applied fairly. If anything unexpected happens to you during the exam, such as taking unwell, then you must tell the invigilators straight away.
QUESTION PAPERS & ANSWERS BOOKLETS Read the instructions in the front of your question paper – very important. You will get either: A combined question paper and answer booklet Or A separate question paper and answer booklet If you need extra sheets of paper during your exam, you must write your name, candidate number and school name on each sheet of paper, and place them inside your answer booklet.

FIRE ALARM PROCEDURES Should there be a fire alarm during your exam, you will leave your answers/questions papers and belongings where they are and leave the room you are in immediately. You will be accompanied by the invigilators to the area beside B Block and PE building. Do not go to the area you usually would for your house group. Invigilators will remain with you until the fire alarm is cleared and you are allowed back into the building to complete your papers. Any additional time required will be added on in discussion with the Chief Invigilator and I.
