Testing • COVID-19 testing is required for all students, faculty and staff • A free testing event will be held on campus on Monday, January 4, 2021 for all campus constituent groups • Governor Justice mandate on Higher Education: • Higher Education will forego surveillance testing for the Spring 2021 semester • Higher Education will administer weekly COVID-19 testing for the entire on-campus population • Inclusive to all staff, faculty and residential students • 100% virtual students and faculty will not be required to test • Testing schedule will be posted on WVSU website and emailed • If a person exhibits COVID-19 symptoms: • On-site testing at Family. Care Health Center will be required • Quarantine until test results are obtained 6

Campus-Based Instruction and Course Delivery • Classroom spaces will be configured to ensure all CDC guidelines are followed • • • Six (6) feet distance between occupants Classrooms clearly marked Classrooms operate at 33% capacity Auditoriums operate at 20% capacity Laboratory capacity will vary based on room configuration and use • To the extent possible, classes will become paperless and contact free • Face masks and face coverings must always be worn • Instructors may use face shields in classrooms to better facilitate communications 9

WVSU Continuity of Teaching & Learning Instructional Directives for Faculty • Faculty will review and, if necessary, modify the attendance and participation policy in light of a likely increase in student absences and tardiness. • Students who develop COVID-19 or asked to quarantine due to COVID-19 exposure should not be penalized for these absences • If testing and other assessments are occurring inclass, faculty are expected to have an alternate means of delivering tests/assessments in case the students are in isolation or quarantine during the scheduled time • Course Syllabi will illustrate how testing and other assessments will occur • Faculty will keep virtual office hours • Faculty will respond to students within 24 hours during the regular work week (Monday. Friday) • Students who are unable to complete assignments prior to the posting of grades may be given an “Incomplete” with proof of illness. The date for all work to be completed must be documented and will need to occur prior to the grade migrating to a failing designation 10

For more information on high risk conditions, visit the CDCwebsite • Appropriate University personnel and leadership (Supervisor, Chair, Dean, Provost’s Office, etc. ) will review requests to ensure that the modification is reasonable and does not present an undue hardship based on operational need • Reasonable modifications will be determined on a case-by-case basis, based upon verifiable ADA conditions, and non- ADA factors. Provisions such as ADA accommodations, modified duty, temporary adjustments, FMLA or other leave may be available • We strongly recommend that you communicate with your supervisor or department Chair as soon as possible, and prior to submitting a request, and work with them to complete a modification plan 11

Physical Distancing • Employees should avoid office gatherings, break rooms and unnecessary in-person meetings and socializing in the workplace • Workplaces will be configured and managed to allow for six (6) feet distances • Students should avoid congregating in groups • Meetings should be conducted electronically, even when working on campus • If meetings cannot be conducted virtually, participation should be limited to ten (10) participants while appropriate physical distancing and wearing of masks or face coverings • The largest available meeting location should be utilized • Classroom space has been adjusted to 33%, auditoriums to 20% and laboratories according to configuration and use 13

Surfaces frequently touched by multiple people, such as door handles, bathroom surfaces, and handrails, will be cleaned with soap and water or another detergent at least daily when facilities are in use • If you notice that sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer or other supplies have been depleted, please request additional supplies through your building coordinator • Building coordinator contact information will be disseminated via campus email • Residential students will receive specific instructions on cleaning, PPE and other supplies to bring with them to campus • Residence Halls have been configured to address CDC guidelines • Personal face coverings are required in all areas outside of a resident’s room • Frequent reminders of proper hand hygiene will be made (verbally, posters and videos) and hand sanitizer will be widely available in common areas and rooms • Specific guidelines for common areas and laundry sites are posted • Do not shake clothes to avoid the spread of the virus • Use warmer water settings when washing clothes • Clean and disinfect hampers or other carts for transporting laundry 14

Quarantine and Isolation • Residential students who are exposed, show symptoms or contract the COVID-19 virus will quarantine or isolate in the campus designated area • Before entering the quarantine or isolation floors, students will read and sign the WVSU Quarantine and Isolation Rules and Safety Protocols form 15

Student Life • The Office of Student Life and Engagement (SLE) will coordinate activities that comply with physical distancing guidelines and ensure that appropriate face coverings, respiratory and hygiene are used • Technology-based platforms will be used for larger scale experiences • Virtual programs will be provided through SLE and external companies • The links to the virtual programs will be provided via campus emails on the day of the event • Intramural sports activities will also be managed to comply with physical distancing guidelines and athletic best practices 16

Athletics • WVSU Athletics’ plan was developed following safety guidelines from the NCAA’s “Core

Athletics • WVSU Athletics’ plan was developed following safety guidelines from the NCAA’s “Core Principles of Resocialization of Collegiate Sports, ” MEC’s “Return to Competition Plan, ” and state and local officials. We will continue to monitor these recommendations and the latest medical and public health information available to make adjustments as warranted. WVSU Athletics’ protocol, rules, and regulations will be posted digitally through clear signage in all pertinent athletic areas/venues as well as being disseminated to all athletes, coaching/athletic staff, visiting teams, fans/visitors, and athletic officials to ensure everyone is aware of the expectations well before the point of contact • WVSU student-athletes will follow the University’s policy for COVID-19 testing when they return to campus • WVSU Athletics will work with Physical Facilities staff to ensure practice/game areas and equipment are cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis • Student-athletes will be encouraged to wear masks when in athletic facilities, unless in locker rooms, meeting rooms, and practice/game areas 17

Virtual Town Hall meetings for students, faculty and staff will be held throughout the semester to ensure the campus community is informed of all things COVID 19. Date, time, and access information for all Virtual Town Hall meetings will be distributed via email • Daily email correspondence will be sent to all students and staff as a reminder to self-assess their health • Social Media posts will assist in daily reminders to wear a mask, social distance and be responsible. Utilization of social media will greatly impact the delivery to students • WVSU will provide regular updates, reminders, and myth-rumor busting communications throughout the Spring semester including: • Weekly communications to students, faculty and staff from the COVID-19 Task Force; • Regular updates on the University’s official social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and You.
