OGC Health DWG – Welcome/Background The OGC Health Domain Working Group enables the identification and prioritization of use cases where geospatial data and web service interoperability are required. Our aim in 2015 is to focus on requirements that provide the most significant value, or mitigate the most significant risks in the health arena. We will convene DWG participants, exchange knowledge, build capacity, share documentation (wiki) and inform the broader user and developer communities. Participants collaborate in: 1. Gathering user and technical requirements 2. Informing the development of documentation and standards 3. Exchange of knowledge, best practices, profiles of implementation of OGC standards (e. g. to integrate and visualize health and non-health information on a spatial and temporal basis) 4. Demonstration through interoperability projects 5. Implementation of interoperable technical solutions OGC ®
Agenda 1. Welcome / Introductions 2. Presentation by Kyoung-Sook Kim, AIST 10 minutes 20 minutes (includes time for Q&A) • A project has just been started to extend our current system (environmental monitoring system based on OGC standards such as SOS, CWS, WCS, etc. ) for health application. In early stages of the project, we are now trying to verify a good example of use case to involve human health problems against the level of radiation. Also, the project looks at some other standard documents such as SDMX-HD and HL-7 in order to figure out how to combine them with/into OGC standards. This presentation will be given by Kyoung-Sook Kim, researcher with Data Science Research Group, Information Technology Research Institute (ITRI), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan. 3. Presentation by Giuseppe Conti on UNCAP 20 minutes (includes time for Q&A) • UNCAP: “Ubiquitous i. Nteroperable Care for Ageing People” is an innovation project funded under Horizon 2020 (the research and innovation framework of the European Commission). The project is focused on interoperability, on e. Health and geographic information. This presentation will inform OGC Health DWG participants, help maximize benefit with respect to OGC standards, and engage those who are interested in the project, at the very early stage. This presentation will be given by the project lead/coordinator, Giuseppe Conti at Trilogis Srl. 4. Presentation by Dr. Peter Baumann 20 minutes (includes time for Q&A) • Raster Data Processing for Geo and Life Sciences: Commonalities: Multidimensional arrays (aka raster data) form a fundamental data category in science and engineering, such as in medical imaging and satellite image services. To achieve versatile Web services on such data - in particular: on "Big Data", multi-dimensional array query languages have been devised. The OGC Web Coverage Processing Service (WCPS) operates on spatio-temporal regular and irregular grids represented as coverages. ISO SQL is being extended with array querying and modelling in a domain neutral way, but based on the same underlying concepts. We present the state of standards and technology in massive multi-dimensional array services and point out commonalities and differences. Peter Baumann is editor of the OGC WCPS standard, co-editor of the ISO SQL Array extension, and pioneer of the research field of Array Databases. 5. Presentation by Klaus-Peter Schipper 20 minutes (includes time for Q&A) • Topic: EIP on Active and Healthy Ageing / Direct uplink to Brüssels session. Klaus-Peter Schipper of Geo. HIT – Geographic Health Information Technology, Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland. 6. General Discussion / Q&A 7. Poll participants on Topics of Interest 8. Issues / Actions 9.
