Overview The VCAA’s Special Provision policy is designed to provide students who are affected by illness, impairment or personal circumstances the opportunity to participate in and complete their senior secondary studies.

Special Examination Arrangements (SEAs) are designed to assist students who have a disability or illness that may affect their ability to access their external VCE examinations. • School’s apply on behalf of student • The application must include VCAA’s evidence requirements • The SEAs Panel considers each application individually • Established benchmarks for evidence and decision-making

Derived Examination Score The Derived Examination Score (DES) is intended for students who experience the onset of an illness or the occurrence of an injury or personal trauma around the examination period. • Student is responsible for the DES application • Timely medical/professional consultation • Closing date is seven days after student’s last VCE examination in the relevant examination period.
