Neighborhoods o o WRONG: He lives in east Davis. RIGHT: He lives in East Davis. WRONG: The suspect headed East toward I-80. RIGHT: The suspect headed east…
We have vice principals o o WRONG: Each assistant principal is in charge of a class. WRONG: Our Vice-Principals are each in charge of a class. WRONG: Each vice principle is in charge of a class. RIGHT: Each vice principal is in charge of a class!
Course titles Classes aren’t capitalized unless it’s the full name of a special class or the name of a language. Examples: AP Statistics, Spanish, math, biology, trigonometry, ROP Desktop Publishing.
Apostrophes Apostrophes are only used for possessives, not to make plurals. WRONG: He visited many UC’s. She lived in the 1960’s. RIGHT: He visited many UCs. She lived in the 1960 s.
