SPEAKER & PANELIST Dr. Ninh NGUYEN HUU Chairman / Director Center for Environment Research Education and Development (CERED) Dr. Ninh NGUYEN HUU is the Chairman / Director of CERED in Vietnam, an independent NGO established in 1991 and sponsored by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) to carry out its strategy for environment and socio-economic development research in Vietnam, in co-collaboration with various organizations, both domestic and international. Dr. Ninh was a Lead Author of the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change: Climate Change 2007, which was awarded Nobel Peace Prize, and author of The Policy for Environmentally Sustainable Development: Perspectives from Vietnam (2013). His research works also include various articles and books published under CERED in Vietnam and abroad. Dr. Ninh received the Doctor of Science (Hon) from University of East Anglia (Norwich, UK) in 2002 and Honorary Doctor from University of Pécs (Hungary) in 2009. He was honored by The House of Representatives, State of Hawaii (USA) in 2013. He is an Honorary Member of the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD). SPEAKER & PANELIST Inès QUOICO Owner / Managing Director Organik JSC Ms. Inès QUOICO is the Owner and Managing Director of Organik Dalat (Organik), the first food safety HACCP and EU certified organic farm in Vietnam. Recently, Organik also received USDA Organic certification. The company aims to bring sustainable agricultural methods to grow and distribute vegetables and fruits in Vietnam. While born and grown up in Paris, Ms. Quoico has always been fascinated by Vietnamese strong culture which she inherited it from her mother. She is herself a young entrepreneur as she had run the family business at the age of 20 when her dad passed away. Once the business had reached its full potential, she started to travel to diverse countries to finally find new opportunities in South-East Asia. In 2015, Ms. Quoico made a long-term investment in Organik as its activities combined her passion for plant-based diet and her concern for food safety. Remarkably, 100% of Organik’s management team are women and the company plans to duplicate the same model for executive officers. This is in line with Ms. Quoico’s purpose to support women to make a difference in their lives. Ms. Quoico holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from University of Paris I: Panthéon. Sorbonne. SPEAKER & PANELIST Oscar TJAKRA Senior Analyst - Rabo. Research Food & Agribusiness Rabobank Mr. Oscar TJAKRA is a Senior Analyst in Rabobank's Global Rabo. Research Food & Agribusiness department. He is located in Singapore, and focuses on the grains and oilseeds sector. Mr. Oscar was previously a FAR Analyst with Singapore branch from July 2008 to October 2010 covering various sectors including grains & oilseeds, sugar, cocoa and animal protein. His most recent role was SVP, Freight Research with Oldendorff Carriers Singapore where he led its global supply and demand research of the grains & oilseeds sector. SPEAKER & PANELIST Hong Duong PHAM Chairman TTC Sugar, TTC Group (Thanh Cong Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company) Mr. Hong Duong PHAM is the Chairman of Sugar Segment of TTC Group – a conglomerate focusing on Sugar, Energy and Tourism. TTC Sugar is one of the largest sugar producers in Vietnam and is planning to be listed on Singapore Stock Exchange by 2020. Mr. Pham has over 20 years of experience in sugar cane field. Since 2015, he has become the Chairman of Board of Management of TTC Group. His management views are to provide a “Green, Clean and Sustainable development towards community” as well as to ensure “Farmer has income - Factory has profit (Nông dân có lời – nhà máy có lãi)”. PANEL MODERATOR Vien NGUYEN SON Partner / Senior Strategic Advisor United First Partners Group (UFP) Mr. Vien NGUYEN SON is a Partner and Senior Strategic Advisor heading Global Systemic Development at United First Partners Group (UFP). His expertise focuses on sustainable development dedicated to global systemic development, management and financing of natural resources with particular emphasis on agriculture, advising governments and largest institutional investors worldwide. Mr. Vien began his international career in Italy in 1992 heading Project Finance and Acquisition Finance at Banque Indosuez Italia. In 1997, he relocated to Singapore where he has been residing until now and co-headed the Asia-Pacific region for Mediocredito Sp. A, the development bank owned by Italy’s Ministry of Treasury. Mr. Vien holds a Master degree in Applied Mathematics at Paris Dauphine University and is a lecturer of Natural Resources Management and Social Impact Finance at Paris Dauphine University.
