Accents When we only have the DIRECT object, we put the accent mark on the third syllable beginning from the end. (mirar) Mírelo (look that) (contratar) contrátelo (in this case the “te” is not an indirect object, it is only part of the verb “contratar”) When we have an INDIRECT object, we put the accent mark on the third syllable beginning from the end.
