Founded: North Carolina was founded by Virginia colonist in 1653. but the first native Americans that was there was the Roanoke.

Religion/culture North Carolina was not dominated by a specific religion. This had gave them religious freedom. They were Anglicans which had belonged to the church of England. There was also puritans that was in the southern colonies or north Carolina but it was a small percent of them.

Economy In north Carolina they connected on agriculture and devolved the plantation for exporting

Economy In north Carolina they connected on agriculture and devolved the plantation for exporting tobacco, cotton, corn, vegetables, grain, fruit, and livestock. They also had the largest slave population who worked on plantations. The plantations grew cotton, tobacco, rice, sugar, indigo (dye), and crops. Some of the plantations were massive and had consisted the main house, slave quarters, a dairy, blacksmith shops, laundry, and smoke shops, and barns. Most people in north Carolina earned their living from cotton, tobacco, and indigo. They worked for 7 yrs then was let free

North Carolina was settled because England wanted to help and control southeastern North America.

In 1729, Carolina became two colonies, North Carolina and South Carolina. North Carolina had few harbors and wasn’t good for farming. The Cherokee were a Native American tribe in North Carolina. They were one of the many tribes who refused to leave North Carolina during the 1820 s and 1840 s. Cape Fear was a part of North Carolina.
