Georgia • Last British American colony • Founded by John Oglethorpe (1733) • 2 purposes
South Remained Underdeveloped • Few cities emerged • Life revolved around southern plantations and farms (isolated population) • Poor transportation: waterways were principal means of transportation • Mostly Anglican
