Middle School Philosophy � The purpose of athletics at South is to give students

Middle School Philosophy � The purpose of athletics at South is to give students opportunities to find out more about themselves by participating in athletic programs, exercising, having fun, and developing their skills for high school competition. � Teams may be evenly divided by ability or may be designated as “A” or “B” teams. � All students will have equal playing time. � However, playing time will be affected by attendance at practice, disciplinary reasons, or for coaching instruction or corrections.

Middle School Eligibility � Eligibility is reported on a weekly basis. A new report

Middle School Eligibility � Eligibility is reported on a weekly basis. A new report goes into effect each Wednesday morning. Ineligible students may practice, but cannot be involved in a public appearance or contest. This is for middle school athletes competing at the middle school or high school level. This follows the rules as stated by the NDHSAA. � Coaches will notify students and a letter will be mailed home � A student is ineligible if any of the following apply: - Two or more F’s - Two or more citizenship grades of a “ 2” - One citizenship grade of a “ 1” - An alcohol, tobacco, drug, or criminal violation (2 weeks

Transportation To/From Events � There may be busses provided this year, but it is likely that parents will be asked to drive their kids to and from contests in Grand Forks � There will be a form available if car pooling

Twining Middle School GFAFB Access � Parents need to complete the base access form and return to the South office at least 10 days in advance of the contest with the required information for all attendees. This is a rule of the United States Government. � To get on to the base you will need � Drivers license � Proof of insurance � Vehicle registration � There are NO Exceptions to this rule
