Advanced Pricing within the Sourcing tool streamlines the capturing of different item parameters by the Purchasing Analyst by allowing the input of various item specific terms in a tabulated form. Matrix Pricing & Tiered Pricing Definitions and Benefits Matrix Pricing Tiered Pricing Definition Matrix Pricing allows the Purchasing Analyst to collect multiple factors for a single item during an RFP. For any line item within the matrix, the Purchasing Analyst can capture various item parameters such as Price, Quantity, Color, etc. from bidders. Tiered Pricing allows Purchasing Analysts to capture item pricing when the quantity or volume is not known or provided to bidders. Using Tiered Pricing, Purchasing Analysts can choose the best offer(s) based on their expected purchase volumes. Benefits • Matrix Pricing collect similar bids/responses from vendors across a common factor • Matrix Pricing can also be used to collect bids/responses across multiple factors • Matrix Pricing presents a clean table format for simple, intuitive bidding by the vendors • Matrix Pricing reduce analysis & evaluation time since all vendors’ item-level bids/ responses are presented in a table format • A bidding table will be constructed for every contiguous block of lines in a structure, this means that every block of line items with a common Matrix factor will have its own bidding screen. • Tiered pricing gives Purchasing Analysts the opportunity to capture prices (or discounts) on items based on different quantities • Allows Purchasing Analysts to compare responses/bids side-by-side, which reduces analysis and evaluation time • Tiered Pricing presents a clean table format for simple, intuitive bidding by the vendors

When Tiered Pricing is used Benefits & Limitations Setup Tiered Pricing Item Selection Tiered Pricing Rules Tiered Pricing Page Bidding & Evaluation Bidding Vendor’s view Analysis and evaluation Tiered Pricing Export Benefits • Tiered pricing is an advanced pricing structure that gives vendors the opportunity to provide prices (or discounts) on items based on different quantities • The quantities are defined as ranges – for example, from 1 to 99 units, from 100 to 199 units, and from 200 and above. These quantity ranges are the tiers in the tiered pricing structure. • The online bidding screen (as well as the Excel bidding template) will present the vendors with a price input field for each quantity tier. Note that if several different tiered pricing structures are defined, each will be separated onto different pages in the item table in the bidding screen • Comparing responses/bids side-by-side reduces analysis and evaluation time for the Purchasing Analysts Limitations • • Currently Tiered Pricing is only available for RFP based template Copying and pasting results into Excel for additional analysis can be a cumbersome process (1 -2 hours)

Note that you do not enter a maximum (high) end of the quantity range, only a low end. The high end is implied by the low end of the next tier, minus one. If you enter decimal numbers, they will be rounded to the nearest whole number. Note: You must specify the quantities used for each tier now, when setting up the event.
