Sources of Biooptical Signals Generated as a result
Sources of Bio-optical Signals ◦ Generated as a result of optical functions from the biological system. ◦ Eg. Modified IR absorption due to blood oxygenation.

DEVICE Bioptic telescopic spectacles
• an effective and safe adaptive aid to maintain a driver’s license • A BTS is composed of 2 optical elements – a carrier lens with the traditional distance prescription and a telescope usually mounted in the glasses • To use the BTS, the chin is tilted downward, and the telescope is aligned in the straight-ahead position for the magnified view. Spotting through the BTS is brief.
Low Vision Telescope Optics Optical telescopes are available in two designs— – Galilean – Keplerian • Each has its distinct characteristics and attributes
Low Vision Telescope Optics GALILEAN TELESCOPES • Small and lightweight • Bright image • Narrow fields of view – (about 5 degrees at 3 x) KEPLERIAN TELESCOPES • Longer and Heavier • Dimmer and have reduced contrast • Fields of view at least twice as large as Galilean telescopes – (about 12 degrees at 4 x)
HOW TO MEASURE The measurement parameters for the whole blood are varies from one sample to another, which makes measurement of a biological parameter less consistent through repeated measurements defined 'Discrimination Index' used as an index for quality verification of the system. We present an experimental result for a measurement system for a bio-optical glucose sensor
