Why use source cards? • Source cards are a convenient way to keep up with sources from which you got info for your research paper. • They will make doing the Works Cited page & in text citations much easier.

Color code, numbering, alphabetical, etc. However, when you submit, source cards must be alphabetical with the note cards by that source directly following. Ex. Source 1, Note cards for source one, Source 2, note cards for source 2, etc. • Check sources for credibility

Directions, Tips, and Tricks cont. • Your paper will be 5 -7 pages, so you need 5 -7 sources • You must use a source at least TWICE, but no more than FIVE times • Make sure you note any info you use from a source (even if it is not a direct quote) that would not be considered common knowledge • If you are unsure- ask, read Purdue Owl, or cite it to be safe
