What are vibrations? Vibrations are back and forth movements that are caused by a form of energy. All sound begins with a vibration. Put your hand on your throat and hum. What do you feel? A vibration!!

How does sound travel? Sound travels in waves away from the source in all directions like ripples in a pond.

Frequency is how many vibrations are in this sound in one second. This is very similar to a frequency table in math.

What is pitch? Pitch is how high or low the sound is. Cow=low pitch Cricket=high pitch

How are frequency and pitch related? High pitch = High frequency Low pitch = Low frequency A higher pitch causes there to be more vibrations in a second. So… the frequency is higher.
