Itinerary Friday Travel Transfer to Hotel. Unpack. Saturday VESUVIUS & POMPEII Visit will focus on the destructive power of Mount Vesuvius, classed as potentially one of the most dangerous active volcanos, students will learn about its formation and eruption history. The trip will be compounded by a visit to Pompeii to uncover the effects of the eruption in 79 AD. Evening meal in hotel. Sunday CAMPEI FLEGREI (SOLFATARA) & HERCULANEUM Today the focus returns to plate tectonics with a visit to Campei Flegrei National Park (Phlegraean Fields). This 15 km wide caldera, is an active volcanic system offering the opportunity to view numerous volcanic features, . Then continue onto Herculaneum to see the affects of the 79 AD eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Evening meal in hotel. Monday Tour of Sorrento – investigate the physical and human Geography of Sorrento. Followed by free time for shopping. Evening meal and quiz in Hotel Tuesday Depart Coach back to Newcastle
