Our Team • Dedicated engineering team to handle various types of projects, scopes and details. • Field service support • Technical expertise • Full R&D Support • Supported by various industry distribution channels across the globe. • Large manufacturing facilities

Classical Approach: Concrete Containments The simple concept is an up-scaled bucket with all its limitations which usually work great, until it starts raining. • Standard concrete bathtubs with oil water separators present many challenges. • Maintenance Heavy. Regular water sampling & testing required • Oil water separators are unreliable in the severe winter weather. • Products already available on the market are temporary fixes • The is a need for a more robust long term solution

New Solution? OIL MAT • Albarrie was approached by Kinectrics to create a better solution for a big project at a Major Nuclear Power Plant in Canada. • This venture led to the development of a unique geosynthetic which allows water to pass through but seals on contact with oil. Top Textile Layer Bottom Textile Layer Exclusive non-toxic, non-hazardous, and environmentally friendly highly reactive proprietary polymer blend encapsulates & traps hydrocarbons into a solid rubber-like mass on contact • Offers 20 -30% savings on upfront installation costs vs. concrete • Significant cost reductions achieved over its operating life. Requires no power supply or ongoing monitoring. Product : Long virtually maintenance free life. • reactive chemical load about 5 lb / sq yd • thickness about ½ inch

Game Changer Typical problems encountered with concrete & other type of containments; ELIMINATED þ þ þ þ No more standing water to deal with No more mechanical problems No more pumping and testing water No more moving parts No more concrete or cracks to repair Full access to the transformer –“Driveability” Reduced installation costs Virtually no maintenance required Optimized remediation costs Environmentally responsible Fire quenching capabilities Extended Service life Significantly decreases risks associated with fire & contamination.

Design Information required: ü Site plan drawing ü Volume of oil ü How many pieces of oil filled equipment ü What type of oil ü Soil permeability (geotechnical report is best) ü Depth of the grounding grid ü Geographic location ü Deluge system, if any ü Number of intrusions in the containment area ü Transformer layout • Typical 110% plus rain • IEEE guidelines for secondary oil containment • Best engineering practices • Site considerations • Oil type - FR 3 or Biotemp require a different design • Client specifications

Sorb. Web™Plus System Depth Min. 18” (. 45 m) – Max 47” (1. 2 m) Station Cover Stone Fire Quenching Stone – functions by removing burning oil from the air and quenching the fire; limits and prevents fire spread Woven – used for lateral movement of liquid Non-Woven – separation & filtration layer 2” Sand Layer – cooling & filtration layer SAM – unique geotextile loaded with a proprietary blend of polymer. Has a exceptional absorption capability per square inch. Extends service life of the containment by protecting the oilmat from small accidental leaks. Can be removed and replaced if required. Oil Mat – patented highly reactive geotextile layer and the last line of defence. Allows water to pass through but seals on contact with oil 2” Sand Layer – provides level bedding Native Soil

Applications • Substation Transformers of all sizes, particularly large size equipment with the potential for considerable discharges. • Environmentally sensitive areas where an oil spill could cause significant damage. • Single or multiple above ground storage tanks. • Can be installed both in new substations or retrofitted into existing concrete containments eliminating standing water and the need for mechanical pumps. • The Sorb. Web™Plus secondary containment system is extremely flexible and can be designed with a multitude of configurations, from standard earthen berm perimeters to concrete walls, fibreglass or carbon fiber walls, jersey barriers, underground or above ground. Bring us your challenge and we will work together to develop the right solution.

Perimeter Configurations Cross Section of Completed Earthen Berm System Cross Section of Completed Concrete Perimeter System

Installations - Site preparation. System can be installed with transformer already placed. System can be installed without interruption of power. Earthen Berm In this case drainage is required because the soils underneath are not free draining Concrete Placement of 2” sand layer to provide level bedding surface to build the containment.

Installations – Preparation Earthen Berm Concrete

Installations –Ready For Stone Earthen Berm Concrete

Installations – Finish Earthen Berm Concrete Containment is built. For earthen berm containments, geogrid is placed over the perimeter and covered with station cover stone to protect the berms

System Testing • Extensive lab testing • Performance testing in a test pit • Effectiveness of the system in the presence of an oil spill. • Independent lab analysis of test pit soil after spill – Non detectable levels of hydrocarbons were reported. • Driveability capabilities • Oil burn testing • Performance under severe weather

Real World Success Site 1 Site 2 • Containment was in service for 1 week • Containment in service for 2 years • Accidental discharge approximately 300 gallons • While upgrade work was being conducted evidence of a chronic leak was observed. • Affected layers were removed • Oil mat was congealed • No oil passed • 1 day to clean up • Containment repaired and reinstated • Leak had reached the oil mat. • Oil mat was congealed • No oil passed • 1 day to clean up • Containment repaired and reinstated

Customers TESTIMONIAL “ The liner allowed water to pass through, but captured all of the oil within the liner. The test was conducted over a 24 hour period, and passed in all aspects. The test was witnessed by government representatives (R. N. – QA & M. T. )” - US Army Corps of Engineers Thousands of applications with companies you recognize: • • • NASA Next. Era Energy Progress Energy GE International ABB USACOE – US Corps of Engineers Pacifi. Corp US Department of Energy Trans. Canada Wisconsin Public Service BP Solar Any many more

The Value Proposition • Large customers who have evaluated the product capabilities, long term use, spill clean up, maintenance requirements and environmental protection have decided this is the right product for them. • Solid design • High quality • Great capabilities & low maintenance. • Backed by 10 Million dollar Product & Pollution Insurance Policy and a warranty.
