Background • SONGS decommissioning core principles safety, stewardship, and engagement • Holtec ISFSI CDP unanimously approved by CCC in October 2015: – Existing AREVA ISFSI lacked capacity for all fuel – Expansion allows for continued safe storage of all spent fuel onsite in passively cooled dry casks – Placement in canisters is a precursor to offsite storage • Dry cask storage is proven, safe technology 8
