Short Term Webquest n Knowledge acquisition and integration n Learner acquires a large volume of information and is able to comprehend the information n Time of completion is approximately one to two class periods
Long Term Webquest n Deducing n Comparing n Analyzing errors n Classifying n Constructing support n Inducing n abstraction n Analyzing perspectives
Critical Attributes n Introduction: sets the stage and provides background information n Task: ability to perform and interesting n Information sources: allows for the completion of task n Process: method of completing task n Guidance and conclusion
Non-critical Attributes n Group Activities n Motivational Elements: role playing such as (scientist, detective, reporter) n Capable of use within a single discipline or interdisciplinary
Design Steps n Locate available resources n Organize knowledge of available resources n Identify topics that are aligned to curriculum n Use appropriate materials on line n Use a template as a guide for the creation of a short term, single discipline
