Walk the scale • Now that we have looked at the scale and recorded some different numbers together and individually let’s take a walk! • We will use the playground area for our walk. • We will use the scale that allows us to walk about 350 feet! • During the walk I will allow you to sketch and write the numbers down on a blank sheet of paper. You will also have a clipboard for your paper. • On the playground you must listen for instructions and you must stay involved in the process of walking the scale of the planet’s.
Let’s get started
Ticket out the Door • At your desk sketch in anything else that you may have missed while you were outside. • Make sure you have all 8 planets • Also, you should have recorded the measurements and the distance between the planets. • After five minutes of silent work we can then use our elbow neighbor to gather additional information.
At home • You may go to the website with your parents at home. Check out all the other interesting facts about scaling the solar system. • Try increasing the number for the sun and decreasing the number for the sun. • Remember to press clear all before changing the numbers.
