Its use around India • Solar water heaters have proved the most popular so far and solar photovoltaic for decentralized power supply are fast becoming popular in rural and remote areas. More than 700000 PV systems generating 44 MW have been installed all over India. Under the water pumping programme more than 3000 systems have been installed so far and the market for solar lighting and solar pumping is far from saturated. Solar drying is one area which offers very good prospects in food, agricultural and chemical products drying applications.

Solar energy Pros Cons • • • The power source of the sun is absolutely free. The production of solar energy produces no pollution. The technological advancements in solar energy systems have made them extremely cost effective. Most systems do not require any maintenance during their lifespan, which means you never have to put money into them. Most systems have a life span of 30 to 40 years. Most systems carry a full warranty for 20 to 30 years or more. • • • Takes up a lot of space, Usually a high initial cost. Only works when Sun is shining. It doesn't produce much electricity for one single panel. if u were to build it on the ground, the cost will be higher [ for massive area of land] Only areas of the world with lots of sunlight are suitable for solar power generation As far as solar powered cars go - their slower speed might not appeal to everyone caught up in today's rat race.
