CONTENT o o o o INTRODUCTION TO SOLAR POWER SOLAR CELL WORKING TYPES OF SOLAR CELL CPV CELL SYSTEM SOLER ENERGY IN INDIA APPLICATIONS
INTRODUCTION o o o Solar power systems are a great way to reduce OUR energy cost. Solar energy is abundant in the inner solar system, collecting enough of it to provide electricity for a large population of humans Studies of large-scale solar power generation in space were conducted over two decades ago
SOLAR CELL o IT IS A DEVICE WHICH CONVERTES THE LIGHT ENERGY INTO ELECTRIC ENERGY BY USING PHOTOVOLTIC EFFECT.
WORKING o o Photo generation of charge carriers Separation of charge carriers P-n Junction Connection to external load
WORKING
Sol. Focus CPV Systems o o o CPV Power unit CPV Panel Duel axis tracker
CPV TYEPS
CPV SOLAR PLANT LAYOUT
Advantages of CPV cell o o o Efficiency =38 -47% Cost is less Area required is less 70 -90 kw from 1 km square
USES
SOLAR HEATER
o o Gujarat government has signed a Mo. U with Clinton Foundation to build the world’s largest (3, 000 MW) solar-power plant in the region. 35, 000 sq. km. area of Thar Desert has been set aside for solar power projects. Moser Baer India is developing a 1 MW solar power project in Chandrapur district. The IIT Kanpur has planned to set up a 550 kilowatt in its campus which provide uninterrupted free power supply to six neighboring villages.
