Outline Turn in your permission forms for the interview. Pay attention to the timer – it let’s us know when we need to move onto the next step. Today we will: Experiment with different soils to learn what nutrients are better in which type of soils. Build a dish terrarium representing a desert biome.

Biomes What characteristics make up a biome? What other types of biomes are there? What biome do we live in?
Soil What do plants get from the soil? Are all soils the same? How would you predict soil from Illinois compares to soil from other parts of the world? Which areas have better soils? Which areas have worse soils?
Soil Experiment Follow your Pi. V Mentor and test your soil for: p. H Potassium concentration Nitrogen concentration Phosphorus concentration While your experiment is setting, build your dish garden!

Newscast Choose a student to be the interviewer and the interviewee. Write questions as if you were conducting an interview about today’s lesson. Don’t forget to write and practice the answers as well! Use the video camera to tape your groups interview. Take photos of experiment when done
