Early College Mission Statement Socorro Early College (SEC) will engage all students in unique educational opportunities to attend both high school and college in a special campus environment that will challenge them to excel in their academic and personal endeavors. We will motivate students to be productive problem solving members of society by having the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and transfer an associates degree from EPCC upon graduation from SEC.

What is an Early College High School? An Early College High School is designed to allow students to earn a high school diploma and a 2 year Associate Degree while in high school. We are a School within a School – The Early College Campus has a designated wing or pod within the home high school campus. This allows students to access all of the extracurricular activities and clubs the high school campus has to offer.

Other Frequently Asked Questions Can I participate in fine arts and sports? Yes! All extracurricular activities and clubs offered at Socorro High School are available to early college students. If I have to go to EPCC, will transportation be provided? Yes! Anytime students are required to go to EPCC (classes, orientation, etc. , ) a bus will be provided. Will Early College students have their own graduation? You will actually have the opportunity to graduate twice. Once with your high school and once with EPCC when you complete your Associate Degree.

The only requirement is that you complete an Early College High School Application and return it to your counselor by January 5. Students are selected through a lottery so everyone has the same chance of being selected. Only 125 students are selected. What are the qualities of an Early College student?
