CHALLENGES We don’t have specific budget as well as Ministry Working environment are very challenged Unsupportive Working Facilities like specific transport Absence Public recognition of the profession Low statutory recognition of the Social Work function , title and roles in government operating system (LGA’s and Central Govnt, salary scales e. t. c) Public status of social work profession (tradition and probono service oriented) Limited Education opportunities for Social Workers (masters, phd etc) Ethical irresponsibility of some Social Workers Unemployment of Social Workers Lack of motivations to the Social Workers Incompetence of some Social Work practitioners in Tanzania-due to absence of specialization in Social Work Field Tanzania Social Work modal is Generalist Social Work. Role Confusion between Social Work profession and Community Development profession.

HOW THEY OVERCOME CHALLENGES Most of Social Workers Problems can not be solved by a one side part (Social Workers themselves) it requires political will and collective Social responsibilities (e. g Public Private Partnership -PPP) However Social Workers have been striving to overcome their challenges by forming their Social Work Profession Association (TASWO). TASWO have been struggling to bridge a gape between Social Workers and their Challenges but members commitment is another obstacle towards realizing it goals.
