the owner of a model farm, equipped with the most slovenly dairy devices – a man as sharp as a razor, dull as a hoe, as clean as a whistle, as tough as nails, as white as snow, as black as the raven’s wing, as poor as Job, a man with the lark, down on your toes, and gone with the wind.
