Experiment • The GOAL of our experiment was to test the effect of fertilizer on biomass of snap peas. • HYPOTHESIS: The plants with fertilizer 7 -7 -7 with water will have more bio mass than the plants with just water and no fertilizer.

Observations We noticed a small sprout growing on February 27 th. Mold also started growing on the top of the soil. The Snow Peas never germinated. We terminated our experiment on March 12 th.

New Experiment: Snap Peas After we terminated the Snow Pea experiment, we decided to germinate Snap Peas. We placed the seeds on a wet paper towel, wrapped them in plastic wrap, and waited for them to germinate.

Observations By March 13 th a few seeds were swollen but no sprouts. By March 15 th, all of the seeds were swollen with water and one had a small sprout. By March 15 th, 10 seeds had sprouts. By March 19 th, most of the seeds/sprouts and packages were moldy. We saved the sprout that we could savage.

Observations We planted 10 saved germinated seeds in two pots. (5 sprouts a pot)

Observations We planted 10 saved germinated seeds in two pots. (5 sprouts a pot) Out of the 10 seeds that we saved, we got one sprout to grow. This was in the pot with the fertilizer. It only got to be about 2 cm tall. By April 5, the small sprout was dead.

Results We don’t really have any results since all out plants died. We were never able to calculate bio mass. Our hypothesis wasn’t able to be tested so I cant say whether we were right or not. I can say that the seeds in the pot that had fertilizer actually had growth, whereas the seeds with just water had no growth.

Results The Snap Peas also seemed to germinate faster than the Snow peas. This

Results The Snap Peas also seemed to germinate faster than the Snow peas. This might have been because of the way we germinated them.
