Instructions Be sure to place this presentation in Slide Show Mode if it is not already in that mode before proceeding The purpose of this drill is to help you improve your skill at finding answers to questions using the applicable fire codes and also to help increase your knowledge of the Fire Alarm codes. Each slide will contain a question. The question will remain in the screen for a period of 2 minutes then a notification will sound and the slide will transition to the next slide with the answer. After 15 seconds the next question will appear. During the test do not worry about the correct answers when those slide appear. You will be given an opportunity to review the answers with out the time at the end of the test. Click on the slide to start the timer and begin the test
• This drill is based on your ability to find things quickly in the National Electric Code and your ability to understand the code requirements. NOTE • Be sure to use the Targeting method to find things quickly. • Be sure to the have the Chapter Titles of the NEC chapters memorized as this will speed you up.
REMEMBER 90. 3 Chapters 1 -4 of the NEC are the National Electric Code and the requirements found there apply to all occupancies and installations. Chapters 5 -7 Modify and Amend the Requirements found in Chapters 1 -4 of the NEC Chapter 8 is a Code within a Code and only those things specifically cited in Chapter 8 from Chapters 14 apply to things in Chapter 8
REMEMBER • 90. 3 Lists the Chapter Titles of all the Chapters and also the Code Arrangement • Understanding this and having it memorized will increase your code look up abilities. • Also, use this in conjunction with the Table of Contents and the Parts of Large Articles.
