SMB SMB-SE group L. Scibile 1

Mandate SMB • The SMB-SE Group is responsible to provide, to operate, maintain and to renovate the civil engineering infrastructures and the technical services for the tertiary part of the organization. • The abovementioned responsibilities include all phases from design and construction to operation and maintenance of complete built assets. 2

Groups scope SMB From minor works From Design to construction and Operation & Maintenance to complex projects 3

Groups objectives and priorities SMB • Objectives: – FUTURE ACCELERATOR STUDIES – a world class expertize. – PROJECTS – a productive and efficient team. • HL-LHC, LS 2 and Consolidation of the infrastructure – SERVICES – a service oriented culture. • Priorities: – – Safety Strategic projects (HL-LHC, LS 2 and Consolidation of the infrastructure) Machine availability Users satisfaction 4

SAFETY SMB • RISKS : – The risk of an accident is higher when underestimated. – In the case of doubts, ask your supervisor or your DSO. – Adapt your behavior to the situation. • For the newcomers: – Get informed and trained about the specific risks on the CERN site: • Safety rules: https: //espace. cern. ch/Safety-Rules-Regulations/en/Pages/default. aspx • Safety Training: https: //espace. cern. ch/info-safetytraining-official/Pages/default. aspx • For the supervisors: – Brief your supervisee about the risk they might face on their new assignments.
