Concept of Operations Background: There is a need to identify and develop the human interfaces of future space habitats that will be critical to performing the requires technical tasks and maintaining healthy crew physical and mental health on long duration missions beyond low earth orbit. Objectives: NASA would like to explore the use of smart watches for ease of use and efficiency for future astronauts. Current device: The common wrist watch with limited functionality of date and time. Limitations: The current off-the-shelf technologies are limited by battery life, weight, display size, memory capacity, processor, device independence, and connectivity. Proposed solution: Expandable infrastructure/network of devices, over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, hosted on a server. End-users: NASA, Jacobs Engineering, Astronauts, Cosmonauts, Students, and Consumers.
