Slow write Take it one sentence at a time. Make sure those sentences include things that I have put on the list.

This is what your Slow Write will be about. The next slide will show you what it needs to include.

Sentence 1 - Needs to start off with a character speaking. Sentence 2 - Include an adjective which is describing a noun. Sentence 3 -Must describe what some of the characters are doing. Sentence 4 - Include one of these conjunctions: because, and or so Sentence 5 - Could maybe start with a time conjunction: Later that afternoon, Next, After a while Sentence 6 -Something surprising happens Sentence 7 - Describe how one of your characters is feeling but do not use the words happy/scared/sad/frightened – try and think of better ones to use instead.

“What is that ? ” Tim the astronaut suddenly asked. He had noticed a glowing, red dot out of the space shuttle’s window. The Captain leaned forward in his chair – now he could see it too. “All astronauts to the control room and bring your power packs too, ” he shouted down the loudspeaker. Almost immediately, all four astronauts arrived in the main room of the space shuttle. Leila, the youngest member of the crew, immediately put her hand up. “I volunteer to take the extra rocket and go and investigate it immediately. ” As she spoke, she could feel her heartbeat echoing round her helmet, and her hands were slightly shaking.

Remember that your writing needs to be written in paragraphs, not just individual sentences.
