Nature Czechoslovakia in past • • • Czechoslovakia was two different states: Slovakia , Czech Republic. Czechoslovakia had an area 140 446 km². The nature was very beautiful and not polluted. In Czechoslovakia were more forests and fields. The longest river in Czechoslovakia was Vltava in Prague (430 km) The longest mountain in Czechoslovakia was Gerlachovský štít.

Living habits of its citizens • • • Communist mode started: May 1921 and finished: April 1992. Children could go to camps. (pioneer camp) Spartakiáda was every 5 years. Spartakiáda was big group of people who danced and did exercises. Spartakiáda was big even. All people wore the same uniforms. The first time was Spartakiáda in Prague. JRDs were responsible for most of the Czech-Slovak agricultural production. People used to work in JRD. In present farmers take care of the fields , but in past JRD took care of the fields.

Life- houses in the past • In the past a lot of people lived in the villages , in the small wooden houses. You will find typical painted wooden houses in Čičmany. There are still living some people.

Life- houses now • About 70 years ago a lot of people moved from villages to the city, because they had easier life here /in the city/and lived in the flats. They started to work in the big factories. Now people still work in the big factories in the city, but they want to live in the quiet places, villages again.

Products and eating-past • In the past people used to have animals /cows, horses/ and they worked on the fields and made their own bread, milk, butter. . .

Eating- Today • Now people buy almost everything in the supermarkets and eat in the restaurants and fast foods. Only some go and buy at farmers.

Fashion and dresses • In the past , when it was a world war people used to have only 1 -2 dresses. Dresses were simple. Different regions had different dresses /embroidered/ Now, people have a lot of dresses and still are not happy. .

7 positives and 7 negatives of each period • • Positives: In the past people grew fruit and vegetables at home. In the past was a lot of forests and the air was clean. In the past were not cars and air was not polluted. In the past were not mobile phones and people were playing outside. Now life is easy. Now people can get everywhere thanks to cars. Now is a lot of medicine Negatives: • Now people use chemistry on vegetables and fruit. It is not healthy. • Now people cut the trees and air isn not clean, because tree create fresh air. • Now is a lot of cars and air is so much polluted. • Now is a lot of people who don´t go out because of mobile phones and PC. • In the past people didn´t have conveniences / washing machine, vacuum cleaner. . . / • In the past people could not travel because of communism. • In the past people died on simple disease.

My opinion • I think that life is better now than in the past. We have more medicine, cars, mobile phones, life is easier than in the past. I am so happy to live in present.
