180 degree rule 180 Degree Rule: When shooting, the subject remains in the centre of the shot, with the camera of one side of it. This creates an imaginary line through the subject. The camera must remain within 180° of this line. Crossing over to the other side of the line changes the shot completely, often switching the direction of eye contact which can ultimately be confusing for the viewer. https: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=Bba 7 ra. Eye line match Eye Line Match – Based on the premise that the audience will want to see what the character in the shot is seeing. The eye line follows where the character is looking, eyes looking off screen. Then, the film would cut to another shot showing what they were looking at. https: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=y_1 H 6 V 7 uy. Y c
