Injuries � Injuries occurring at a SKGAA match or SKGAA training session � Consult with the team manager/physio/first aider and decide what’s needed: �A & E �Visit to Doctor �Physio � Where the injury is deemed serious and a visit to the A&E is required, it’s advisable to contact your own GP first for a referral (or the Club Doctor, Paddy Meagher). This will reduce the cost to the player. � Please be aware the Club does not cover the cost of your GP. The Club does cover the cost of the Club Doctor � � � If an injury requires an ambulance, the Club will cover this additional cost. Check referee has note of injury in Referees Report

� All injuries requiring any treatment must be notified immediately – within 7 days

� All injuries requiring any treatment must be notified immediately – within 7 days – to the Club’s Injury Officer, Kevin O’Connell injury@skgaa. ie - full details on the Club website � Details required are: ◦ Players Name ◦ Managers name ◦ Description of the injury and how & when it occurred (2 sentences) ◦ Indicate which of the following was/is required: A&E, Doctor, Physio � No costs, either through the GAA injury scheme (Willis) or through the Club, will be reimbursed without this stage being properly completed � The Club Injury Scheme applies only to players who have fully paid their Club Membership for the year

Reclaiming Costs � Must claim costs firstly through your own personal health insurance policy � The GAA Injury Scheme and the Club’s Injury Policy are designed to ease the financial burden on the player by paying un-reclaimable costs after such a claim is made – that is to say, these schemes are not designed to replace personal insurance. � It is the responsibility of the individual player or player’s parent to ensure that where a claim is to be made to The GAA Injury Scheme or the Club’s scheme, that all relevant documentation and procedures are followed. It is the responsibility of the Club’s Injury Officer to help with this process. � Full details of the Willis’ GAA Injury Scheme are on the Club website. Claims must be made within 60 days of the initial injury date.

Physio � Must claim costs firstly through your own personal health insurance � The club will pay € 15 towards each physio treatment (limit of € 200/year) � Players must pay the physiotherapist and seek refund from the club, by producing original receipts to the Club Secretary Alan Hassett, within 30 days of last visit to physio � All injuries requiring any treatment must have notified the Club’s Injury Officer within 7 days, Kevin O’Connell injury@skgaa. ie - full details on the Club website � This policy is subject to constant review and the Club Executive reserve the right to amend the policy as they see fit
