Sit And Reach Test
HISTORY OF THE TEST He was born the 3 of May in Edimburgh, United Kingdom in 1952. This test is also called the Wells’ test. It was inveted by Allan Wells who was a british speed specialist as well as a 100 meter Olympic champion and 200 meter runner-up in Moscow.
HOW IS IT USED NOWADAYS? Flexibility is a physical quality that can be improved using different techniques and training methods. Flexibility is understand to be a term that comprises joint movility and muscle elasticity Flexibility is used in multiple sports like gymnastics, pilates or yoga. In our exam you are going to be examinted of the flexibility of your torso and your hamstrings and you will have two attempts to do it and reach your máximum score
HOW WE SHOULD PERFORM THIS EXERCISE PROPERLY? The sit and reach test is the most common way to measure lower back and hamstring flexibility. If we want to make a good performance of this exercise we should do some stretching exercises first First of all remove your shoes and sit on the floor with your legs stretched out in front of you with knees straight and feet flat against the front end of the test box. Then relax, take a big breath and in a slow, steady movement, lean forward at the hips, keep your knees straight and slide your hand up the ruler as far as you can go. Extend as far as you can, record the result in cm, rest and repeat another time.

CONCLUSION We are very surprised with the results of our partners just because they have done a really good performance. In general girls have had better results including Elisa Belmonte or Elena Medina who both get a 10 but some boys also get a high mark such as Pablo Sirvent who get the best boy’s result. When we did the presentation all our partenrs were listening and in general the have paid attention and they did the exercise correctly , however we think that we should practise these exercises more because, although the class had a good average there are some students that got lower results.
