Simon Bolivar was born in Caracas in 1783 to an extremely wealthy family. At that time, the Bolivar family was among the wealthiest in the colony. Both of his parents died when he was young. He had no memory of his father, Juan Vicente and his mother Concepcion Palacios died when he was 9 years old. In (1783 -1830) Simon Bolivar was the greatest leader of Latin America’s independence movement from Spain. His later years are marked by the downfall of his grand dream of a united South America
His Role In Independence He was a revolutionary who set freedom to six countries, who argued the problems of national liberation, a general who fought a war of non - ending violence. Around the 1810’s, Bolivar was sent to England to ask for the support of the British government: there he met Miranda, who he invited to Venezuela to take part in the government of the young republic. On July 5, 1811, the First Venezuelan Republic voted for full independence, dropping mockery that they were still loyal to Ferdinand VII.
The Battle of Carabobo The battle of Carabobo was fought on June 24, 1821 between the spanish and the Venezuelan freedom fighters and some british soldiers which was led by Simon Bolivar. This war was fought for the independence of Venezuela and Simon Bolivar and his men won this battle. Today June 24 is Venezuela’s independence day which is also known as “Army Day” in Venezuela.
