Similes Simile can be find just about anywhere, from the printed word to oral conversation. A simile is where two things are directly compared because they are alike in some way.
Metaphor A metaphor also compares two things, but it does so more directly without using as or like.
The difference between simile and metaphor We can say that a simile is a metaphor but not all metaphors are similes. Metaphor and simile are quite different but are commonly confused simply because they are so similar in nature.
The difference between simile and metaphor A metaphor is an equation while simile is an approximation. A simile compares two things to create a meaning, while a metaphor is a figure of speech that makes use of something to mean something else.
The uses of similes and metaphors Similes and metaphors are add depth to language, they can make our language more interesting and enjoyable. We can also use them to enrich our writing or sentences, and to make our writing more entertaining.
