CDP Updates What is a Target Group Profile? § Target group profiles (TGP) provide Census Profile variables for a subset, or target group, of the population. 2016 Census Report: Income For the first time in 2016, the Census of Population Program gathered income information solely from administrative data sources. Household Income Individual Income • By gender • By income types Economic Family Income • By family structures Low-income • By age category • Prevalence of Low-income SIMCOE COUNTY DATA CONSORTIUM * Dollar amounts have been inflated where necessary to 2015 constant dollars using the consumer price index (CPI). * The income data used for the 2016 Census is based on income information collected in 2015. 13

This term is used throughout related census products. Statistics Canada is currently in the process of developing a consultation and testing strategy to determine the terminology that will be used when referring to these populations in the next census and in future surveys. 14
