Adequate Yearly Progress The Basics 1. Must have at least a 95% participation rate in ELA and math • 2. Percent proficient in ELA and math-(targets change each year) Goal-100% of students (including all subgroups) proficient or higher by 2013 -14 • • 3. SSUSD ELA – 54. 5% SSUSD Math – 57. 9% API-(target changes each year) 2010 target = 680 or 1 point growth • 4. SSUSD met this criteria SSUSD API – 788 (13 point growth) Graduation rate - 2010 target = 90% • • SSUSD – graduation rates are currently pending (SSUSD 2009 graduation rate- 92. 8%)

District Focus To continue to improve student achievement and close the achievement gap, the district will: • accelerate and challenge students in order to maximize performance • provide strategic intervention and support to those students who have been identified as not meeting grade level standards • identify and provide professional development to ensure the skills necessary to target specific needs of students • continue to analyze student data, monitor student progress, and modify instruction to improve student achievement
