6 Your Role as Recertification Provider • • Your go-to source: The Recertification Provider Guide – http: //www. shrm. org/Documents/SHRM%20 Preferred%20 Provider%20 Guide. pdf Benefit: – Award PDCs without prior approval from SHRM for a 2 -year period Must meet qualifications, apply, be accepted, follow guidelines Be familiar with what “counts” – SHRM Bo. CK greatly expands the scope of professional development activities that will qualify for recertification credit – SHRM Bo. SHARE! • Table activity to reverse engineer programs offered by chapters represented at your table – Activity 2: Brainstorm NEW Program ideas – What career level is targeted for program? – On which Bo. CK functional area is the program focused? – What Bo. 8 Let’s take a walk--Activity 1 • • • Your Mission: Reverse Engineer an existing program to link to Model and SHRM Bo. CK Think about a program you held at a chapter meeting this year Use the sticky notes on your table Record this information on the sticky note – General topic – Target audience – Functional Area from Bo. CK – Key Behaviors from Bo. 9 Pick up the pace to Jogging—Activity 2 • Develop a new program! Be Creative! – Develop a program that meets a development need in your chapter—[record this is your program topic] – Choose a program level: focus on ALL HR professionals or ADVANCED HR professionals – From the SHRM Bo. CK: • Choose a functional area or areas your program will include • Choose one or more Responsibility Statements covered in your program • Identify the competency or competencies addressed in your program – Write a title for your program – use template provided – SHARE! 2015 SHRM VOLUNTEER LEADERS’ SUMMIT
