Bullying through electronic devices had been a widespread problem in the United States, and the problem seems to be getting worse. Different groups of people are affected differently by cyberbullying.

Descriptive Scene/Anecdote The television is turned on to see yet another suicidal topic headlining the evening news. Another innocent victim was harassed and bullied on Instagram and Twitter. Your heart drops from your chest to the floor. The words, “he couldn’t take any more, ” viciously swarm from the screen to your brain. Tears stream down your face even though you have no idea who this boy was. Cyberbullying is a serious topic that happens daily to most teens. Different groups are affects by cyberbullying.

You come home from a hard day at school. You are tired and cannot wait to relax on your computer. You log on and see a recent notification from Facebook. You click, expecting a picture you were tagged in or a new status notification from a best friend. Instead, you are faced with a vulgar message directed right at you. Many people from your school have left you cruel comments and liked the status. You slam your laptop, shutting your eyes full of disbelief and fresh tears. You had just experienced cyberbullying, and it can happen to anyone. People are affected differently by cyberbullying.

Clearly, cyberbullying does not only affect the victim but America as a whole. The

Clearly, cyberbullying does not only affect the victim but America as a whole. The effects of cyberbullying are literally deadly. Teens across the nation are taking their lives because of brutal messages and posts on forums and other online social media. Everyone can take a stand against cyberbullying by ignoring vicious and hateful Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook posts. Everyone can take a stand by not commenting online on someone’s hurtful words or comments. Take a stand by instead posting a positive and uplifting comment, negating and fighting against the cruel words meant to torment.
