She Walks in Beauty AUTHOR: GEORGE GORDON, LORD BYRON HAILEY URQUIJO 2 B MARCH 19, 2014
She walks in Beauty 5 10 15 She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies. One shade the more, one ray the less, Had half impaired the nameless grace Which waves in every raven tress, Or softly lightens o’er her face; Where thoughts serenely sweet express, How pure, how dear their dwelling-place. And on that cheek, and o’er that brow, So soft, so calm, yet eloquent, The smiles that win, the tints that glow, But tell of days in goodness spent, A mind at peace with all below, A heart whose love is innocent!

When Why It was published in Lord Byron was the 6 th Hebrew Melodies in 1815. Baron Byron. The poem was written in response to seeing his cousin, Lady Wilmot Horton, in a mourning dress at a party of Lady Sitwell's on June 11, 1814. The poem was written by the next morning.
My Interpretation The meaning I got from this poem is that the way she walked is so clear and bright. She walked with confidence and even at the roughest times she didn’t show any weakness. That no matter what happened everywhere she walked had beauty to it. That the heart who loves is innocent saying that the heart didn’t do anything bad to cause pain. I think the author is trying to say is that everything is beautiful even the tough times there is always something beautiful in it. The theme of this poem is about beauty. If you look closely you see beauty.
Devices Simile- “ she walks in beauty like the night” Metaphor- “ A heart whose love is innocent!” Imagery- “ The smiles that win, the tints that glow”

The theme This song matches theme of my poem by the beauty. The songs says she is lovely and beautiful. The poem says that she walks in beauty that everything she walks through or with is beautiful. The song and the poem have beauty in common.
Conclusion I highly recommend this poem, it shows that everything is beautiful even the rough times. In the song “Isn't she pretty Truly the angel's best Boy, I'm so happy” saying is that she's beautiful. Everything deals with beauty. “She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that’s best of dark and bright”
