INEOS –Operations Around Manley (Extracted from email from Gordon Grant (INEOS) to Ian Walton

INEOS –Operations Around Manley (Extracted from email from Gordon Grant (INEOS) to Ian Walton (MPC) 22 nd March 2017: We (INEOS) currently have more than 1. 2 m acres of land under licence across the UK. In the North West we are the operator of eight licence areas, one of which includes the Parish of Manley. We are also Partners with IGas in a further four. We expect to undertake seismic data acquisition in 2017 and 2018 across much of our licence areas. This work will commence in the East Midlands and move through our Yorkshire and Cheshire licences thereafter. Existing and new seismic data will help inform planning applications for a number of vertical coring wells to understand the gas content in the shale rock. Two planning applications are being progress to date, one in Derbyshire and one in Rotherham. The results of the core wells will inform future planning applications for appraisal wells where we aim to hydraulically fracture and flow test the well. Results of flow tests will tell us if commercial production is viable. Like any development, all well planning applications are subject to public consultation before submission. Before we commence any work, including our seismic programme, we will fully inform the local communities of our plans and will aim to work alongside parish councils, other elected representatives and local residents to keep all interested parties up to date with our progress.

i. Gas –Operations Around Manley Summary of telephone conversation between David Petrie, (i. Gas)

i. Gas –Operations Around Manley Summary of telephone conversation between David Petrie, (i. Gas) and Ian Walton (MPC): The overlap between Manley Parish and i. Gas operations is very modest – only the western edge of Manley is affected; mostly INEOS operations here. The i. Gas ethos is to inform the local community typically 18 months before any activity. This is a legal requirement of the licence. i. Gas are not looking here at the moment and areas they are interested in are quite far away from Manley. Further sites will be announced soon and David Petrie will contact us again with any news of nearby sites. The only site near us is in Mickle Trafford, and no operational plans have been defined yet.
