Comedies v. Tragedies �A Shakespearean comedy has at least one humorous character, and a successful or happy ending. In a Shakespearean tragedy, one or more characters has a moral flaw that leads to his/her downfall.

Some Elements of Shakespearean Tragedies �Tragic hero- A character who suffers due to some flaw in their character or due to their inevitable fate. �The struggle between good and evil �Hamartia- Greek word for “sin” or “error”; The hero or heroine in the text has some flaw in their character �External and internal conflicts �Comic Relief
