What is the Shahada It is known as thee “most important recitation of a creed” Profession of faith It states “There is no deity but God and Muhammad is His servant and messenger. “ Done in public You have to accept both Allah as your God and Muhammad as his messenger Accept Judeao-Christianity Believe Muhammad is a prophet God sent to help humanity to be delivered from darkness
How it is used Recite in front of 2 witnesses Say a prayer called Adhan You are accepting God as Shaper and Guider of your life. You'll remain undistracted by other influences Such as moods and desires You accept Muhammad as a pledge to abide by “his” instructions and teachings Acknowledge him as a divine source
Shahada “Ashhadu Alla Ilaha Illa Allah Wa Ashhadu Anna Muhammadun rasulu'Llah” Which can be interpretation as: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His Apostle" or “I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah (and) Muhammad is His servant and messenger" Notes "Allah" is in fact a conjunction of two words (i. e. Al-Ilah): "Al" which means "The" "Illah" which means "God" Ilaha (god/deity) Refer to anything which we may be tempted to put in place of God wealth, power. Illa'Llah: ' except God, the source of all Creation. Muhammadun rasulu'Llah: 'Muhammad is the messenger of God'. A message of guidance has come through a man like ourselves.
Apostle’s Creed I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary: Suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried: He descended into hell: The third day he rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty: From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead: I believe in the Holy Ghost: I believe in the holy catholic church: the communion of saints: The forgiveness of sins: The resurrection of the body: And the life everlasting. Amen.
Difference between Christianity Shahada in Islam is that you witness that no God except one and only one God; with no partner, no son, no companion; and no associate and that Muhammad is God messenger and prophet. The Christian view is there is one God and only one God. He is personal. He manifests Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, born of a virgin, without sin, and the chosen Messiah who will one day set up his kingdom on earth.
