THE REASON FOR NEGOTIATIONS Workplace Discrimination in General and Sexual Harassment in particular has been identified as one of the barriers to equity, as well as a common form of Workplace Gender Based Violence.

IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS üThe union concluded sexual harassment policy negotiations at Transnet and implementation took place in a workplace and SATAWU with members across all sectors.

FUTURE PLANS üReview Sexual Harassment policy at Transnet and SATAWU üConduct a survey on the impact of the policy üContinuous bargaining of SEXUAL harassment policies and workplace programmes in all companies that SATAWU is organising üOngoing Campaign on Transforming workplaces through implementation of the Employment Equity and Skills Development Act. üTraining of our own shop stewards as skills development facilitators to form workplace Employment Equity forums to address workplace racial and gender in-equality.
CONCLUSION SATAWU is calling for its members to Unite in eradication of Sexual Harassment as one form of Gender Based Violence, and as one of major barriers to equity in workplaces.
