What’s really going on? • God made everything • God owns everything • God gave everything a purpose • God has given His Son to bring back, to fix all that is wrong – to redeem • As God is, so are we • Who the Father and the Son are has flowed down to us. . . now, what about everyone else?

John 15 We need a guide Let’s look at verses 12 -17

This is the fulfillment of the command (Mark 12: 28 -34) • 29 Jesus answered, “The most important is, ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. ’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ’ There is no other commandment greater than these. ”

Why don’t we DO THIS? We don’t know God We don’t know what to do We don’t believe what we’ve been told • We don’t care • • We know, but He’s just not worth it

You need to Freak out a bit, here. . .

The problem with trying to be humble to combat selfishness and pride is that you are still focused on YOU! The only way to kill selfpride is to put all your focus on another

The way we learn to not be so into ourselves is by being so into Christ. When we make much of Him – the only one who deserves praise – when we make much of Him, our appetites to make much of ourselves fades away

To be less into you, you need to be more into Christ – then humility is born out as the fruit of your love for Christ

SO ARE WE • “As I have loved you” – Note verses 9 -10 • How did God “choose” us? • “So That” – theis is a purpose clause. . . The very reason and goal of the commandment

Hey, wait. . . Is this a new thing?

CHECK IT 1 JOHN 2: 7 -11 7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, 2 JOHN 2: 5 ----

CHECK IT And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we love one another.

Cool stuff John 3: 16 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 1 John 3: 16 • 16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

THE LIFE LOVE GOD: LOVE PEOPLE

LOVE GOD WITH ALL THAT YOU ARE, IN ALL THAT YOU AND. . . THEN, LOVE OTHERS BY HELPING THEM LOVE GOD WITH ALL THAT THEY ARE, IN ALL THAT THEY DO HOW?

LOVE GOD WITH ALL THAT YOU ARE, IN ALL THAT YOU AND. . . THEN, LOVE OTHERS BY HELPING THEM LOVE GOD WITH ALL THAT THEY ARE, IN ALL THAT THIS IS DISCIPLESHIP THEY DO HOW?

As God IS. . . So are we. . .
